Bristol, 29 March 2017 - The Centre for Modelling & Simulation (CFMS) has announced that it will be presenting at NAFEMS World Congress (NWC) 2017, to be held in Stockholm, Sweden.
Taking place between 11th - 14th June 2017, NWC incorporates the third international conference on Simulation Process and Data Management (SPDM). In addition, the event will also host a dedicated symposium on Manufacturing Process Simulation & Additive Manufacturing, covering all virtual manufacturing tools within the product design and manufacturing cycle.
The conference is targeted towards professionals involved in engineering analysis, simulation, modelling and systems engineering. As manufacturing techniques and product lifecycle management processes develop and grow, the use of Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Multibody Simulation (MBS) and associated technologies is increasing exponentially. With modelling and simulation moving into mainstream product development, the event will provide an opportunity for organisations to keep pace with technology development, collaboration and sharing of experience and knowledge.
Entitled ‘A New Hybrid High Order Discontinuous Galerkin – Finite Volume method applied to industrial applications’, Andrei Cimpoeru, CFD Engineer, CFMS, will present a detailed comparison of a new hybrid method on modern canonical and industrial benchmarks from the Innovate UK and ATI project Hyperflux++. The project aim is to highlight the use of the latest advances in the hybrid high-order method, exploiting the power and energy efficiency of conventional and modern many-core processors including graphical processing units (GPUs).
Sam Paice, Chief Operating Officer, CFMS commented, “With a focus on enabling the adoption and acceleration of new technologies for advanced modelling and simulation, such as High-Order CFD, we are delighted to present at NAFEMS World Congress, this new potential for providing higher fidelity solutions than currently achievable with low-order schemes on unstructured grids.”
Incorporating keynote speakers from organisations including Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Porsche AG, Volvo Car Group, Imperial College London, NCC, ASML, Tetra Pak, Engineering Software Research & Development Inc and Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin.
Entrance to the 2017 to NAFEMS World Congress Conference & Exhibition is open to Members and Non-Members. The agenda and registration details can be accessed here.
The Centre for Modelling & Simulation (CFMS) is proud to be a growing, independent and not-for-profit organisation that specialises in high value design capability. We promote advanced modelling and simulation, underpinned by HPC, pushing the boundaries of technology.
Through our exceptional, collaborative, virtual and physical facility, we enable the adoption and acceleration of new technologies for advanced modelling and simulation, while improving learning and developing awareness of state-of-the-art. Engaging with organisations large and small, we help to provide access to the right tools, resources, skills and technologies, resulting in increased productivity and faster, more informed decision-making.
As a trusted and neutral provider, our vision is to drive a practical revolution in engineering capability and design, working with organisations to reduce risk in the design phase, product development costs and time to market.
