Bristol, 16th May 2017 - The Centre for Modelling & Simulation (CFMS) will be hosting the eighth Airbus Flight Physics Distributed Research & Technology Partnership (DiPaRT) event at Bristol and Bath Science Park.
This popular annual gathering will see in excess of 130 delegates from Airbus and the UK Flight Physics R&T community gather together between the 20th and 22nd November 2017. The themes for this year’s event are:
DiPaRT was created in 2010 by Airbus UK as a mechanism for engaging and collaborating with the UK Flight Physics R&T community. Supporting the UK centred capability in design and integration of wings, landing gear and associated systems, the DiPaRT network of organisations and partners identify potential technologies and research aligned with Airbus R&T strategy.
Providing the opportunity to shape and influence pathways, DiPaRT provides transparency of Airbus’s strategic aspirations to shape and influence pathways in Flight Physics R&T.
Leading the event, Philippe Garang, Head of Flight Physics Capability UK at Airbus, commented, “DiPaRT is a great opportunity for the industry and the Flight Physics research community in the UK to get together once a year and share ideas to support research and innovation. With the emergence of new opportunities coming from digitalisation, a particular focus will be placed this year on the development and application of technologies based on data analytics, but also MBSE and Uncertainty Quantification and Management and their applications to the flight physics field of activities. The industry is currently going through a major digital transformation and it is important for us to engage our research community - DiPaRT provides the opportunity to do so.”
Sam Paice, Chief Operating Officer, CFMS, “Facilitating engagement and collaboration, CFMS actively encourages the sharing of areas of interest and the exchange of ideas which DiPaRT promotes. We are delighted to once again host the 2017 event.”
DiPaRT commences on 20th November with a series of keynote talks, followed by the Flight Physics Symposium where delegates are split into streams. Registrations for the DiPaRT event will commence in October 2017 through the CFMS website.
We are proud to be a growing, independent and not-for-profit organisation that specialises in high value design capability. We promote advanced modelling and simulation, underpinned by HPC, pushing the boundaries of technology.
Through our exceptional, collaborative, virtual and physical facility, we enable the adoption and acceleration of new technologies for advanced modelling and simulation, while improving learning and awareness of state-of-the art.
Our collaborative links extend across industry, academia and the research supply chain. Engaging with organisations large and small, we enable companies of all sizes to experience the full benefit of modelling and simulation, helping to provide access to the right tools, resources, skills and technologies, resulting in increased productivity and faster, more informed decision-making.

DiPaRT has been created by Airbus as a mechanism for communicating with, engaging and orchestrating the UK Flight Physics R&T community. The aim is to foster a coherent, well informed and motivated partnership that can help Airbus effectively deliver its strategic vision for a UK capability, supporting design and integration of wings, landing gear and associated systems. Following the establishment of the UK Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) this remit acquires a special significance.
