Student Internship - Engineering Computing Services

The Centre for Modelling & Simulation (CFMS) has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Computing Student Intern (1 year internship).  CFMS is an independent, not-for-profit specialist in digital engineering capability. As a trusted and neutral provider, our vision is to be the recognised, digital test bed for the design of high value engineering products and processes.  We seek an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our team.

As an Engineering Computing Intern, you would work closely with our team of experts in systems engineering and mathematical modelling, machine learning and data analytics, advanced and reconfigurable IT systems and high- performance computing to develop and prove new capabilities. 

The role will provide exposure to exciting and leading edge technologies and systems, with many opportunities to learn new skills working on a wide variety of projects. Roles and responsibilities are dependent upon candidate experience and skills but will include:

  • Supporting CFMS technical team with development, testing and benchmarking activities
  • Development of new systems to meet engineering challenges
  • Working with end-users to understand and meet requirements
  • Presentation of results at national conferences and trade-shows
