letter Winter 2019 Newsletter
Welcome!

Welcome! In this edition, we follow the theme of digital twin, computational fluid dynamics and all things simulation! We discuss AI and simulation and why manufacturers should utilise both technologies to drive efficiency, and take a look at the application of turbulence modelling in high-order methods. For the Innovation Space, we speak to Akselos, an advanced engineering specialist technology company who specialise in predictive digital twin technology for structural integrity management, and Shine the Spotlight on Anthony Simons, an academic software engineer, and senior lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Sheffield. CFMS has had lots of exciting news over the Winter, including a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Composites Centre and also with GKN Aerospace, in partnership with the launch of the Global Technology Centre. If you are keen to broaden your network, make sure you sign up to the Creative Collisions Big Breakfast taking place on 5th March.
