The Centre for Modelling & Simulation (CFMS) will be hosting the ERCOFTAC (European Research Community On Flow Turbulence and Combustion) Annual Industry Day at Bristol and Bath Science Park.
Taking place on 7th July 2016, the event will bring together the UK flow, turbulence and combustion community to consider challenges of interest to industry and academia, with the objective of identifying opportunities for collaborative innovation. The theme and topic for the event is ‘Using big data technology to correlate and validate fluid dynamics simulations with experimental and through-life data sources’.
The event will provide delegates with the opportunity to hear presentations from industry users and academics including Zenotech, Arup, University of Sheffield, GE, NAFEMS and ANSYS. Advanced computing combined with statistical techniques to validate complex fluid flow models with experimental and in-service data is a potential game-changer. The opportunity extends across a wide range of engineering sectors, and is strongly driven by global trends in IT.
The ERCOFTAC Industry Day is a free one day event, held on 7th July between 9.30am and 4.30pm. Delegates are advised to register early and can view the agenda here.
The ERCOFTAC Association promotes the joint efforts between research institutes and industry, with the objective of exchanging technical and scientific information concerning all aspects of flow, turbulence and combustion.
