Structural Enablers for Advanced Metallic Wing (StEAM) Demonstration

The Centre for Modelling & Simulation (CFMS) will be holding a dissemination event on 24th November 2016, resulting from its participation in the Structural Enablers for Advanced Metallic Wing (StEAM) project, led by Airbus.

The project is supported by the joint industry and government aerospace R&D funding programme, delivered as a partnership between the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) and Innovate UK. Led by Airbus, StEAM is a collaborative project with Airbus Group Innovation, Constellium UK, Magellan Aerospace, Testia and CFMS.

The aim of the StEAM project is to produce a software application that can perform optimisation of metallic structures. The project also aims to ease the exploitation of optimisation results by providing refined representations of the sized structure, suitable for the next stages of structure design and stress check.  StEAM includes research and development work spanning several fields, from stress analysis and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) to software integration and high-performance computing.

The StEAM Dissemination Event will be held on 24th November 2016, 9.45am - 11.30am, which follows the Airbus DiPaRT event, taking place at CFMS, 21st-23rd November 2016. To register for the StEAM Dissemination Event, complete the registration form below.
