Engine Shed: CreaTech Mayoral Hustings

CFMS member Engine Shed invite you to meet the full line-up (at time of going to press) of candidates for the position of West of England Combined Authority Mayor.

The election is on 4th May and the successful candidate will be in post on 8th May 2017.

Engine Shed publish this event on the day that the TechNation 2017 report is published, which shows that the digital economy in the Bristol & Bath area (aka West of England) is over £8bn and 3rd largest in the UK, and 4th for area with the most growth in digital turnover.

It is therefore critical that citizens and businesses in the West of England understand the aspirations and characters of those wishing to lead the new combined authority, and to make their views known to them.

They expect to launch, at this event, a West of England CreaTech Manifesto, building on the Bristol version created in 2016.

It is unfortunate that in this context, the "West of England" excludes North Somerset, but we believe that North Somerset is an imporant part of the CreaTech ecosystem and so we while residents of North Somerset cannot vote this time, everyone is welcome to contribute to this event.

  • Chair: Clare Reddington - Creative Director, Watershed
  • Candidates (in alphabetical order by surname):
  • Tim Bowles (Conservative)
  • Aaron Foot (UKIP)
  • Darren Hall (Green)
  • Lesley Mansell (Labour)
