Want to show off your engineering insight and discoveries, and compete to win prizes? Then enter the Ansys Discovery Live Engineering Design Competition! Be a part of a competition that utilises the first ever real-time simulation environment to gain insight into a design’s performance.
If you don’t have a copy of Discovery Live or are not sure what it is, you can learn more and download an evaluation copy here.
The objective of this competition is to illustrate insight or learned trends obtained directly from using Discovery Live. For example, the insight could be adding material in one location or another to improve fluid flow around a component, or showing how you converged on a design direction in a short amount of time as a result of the instantaneous feedback from Discovery Live.
We believe a video is the best way to illustrate these finding, so all contestants must submit a brief video illustrating their findings. If you do not have access to video recording software, please use your favorite internet search engine to look for free screen capture software and use whatever application suits you best.
The top three winners will be awarded the following:
This is an open-ended design competition that is not restricted to a particular design, material, or physics type.
Characteristics of a winning video:
Each submission should include a screen capture video and CAD file that explains the following:
Each video should be at least 1280x720 in size (larger preferred), and be no more than 5 minutes in length. The video should have understandable audio (English only please). However, English captions could be used in place of audio, so long as they satisfactorily explain the requirements.
Please save your CAD file as the default Discovery Live file type, scdoc. No other file types will be accepted. The scdoc file will contain your simulation studies saved within the file.
Optional supporting material:
Feel free to include images or an additional document if it helps better communicate the ideas in your submission.
For the specific Submission Requirements, see the Ansys Discovery Live Engineering Design Competition Official Rules.
