The Centre for Modelling and Simulation (CFMS) will be hosting a visit for the Electronics and Communications Investment Briefing Tour taking place between 3rd and 7th November 2014.
Organised by UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) part of The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and Invest Bristol and Bath, the tour will provide delegates representing UKTI embassies and consulates from around the world with the opportunity to meet and network with key individuals from the UK Electronics and Communications sector. The South West region is home to a world-class tech cluster of organisations that operate in the aeronautical, defence, high tech and science, digital and creative sectors.
UKTI works with UK-based businesses to ensure their success in international markets through exports, encouraging and supporting overseas companies to look at the UK as the best place to set up or expand their business. Bristol and Bath has a long history of innovation in electronics and IT hardware, with world-leading businesses in fields such as processor core technology, mixed signal devices, sensors and lighting. Matt Cross, Head of Inward Investment at Invest Bristol and Bath commented, "due to the diversity of our companies, talented workforce, world leading academic research and brilliant quality of life, Bristol and Bath is attracting many global leaders who are increasingly setting up operations in the Bristol and Bath region".
During the visit to CFMS, delegates will learn about the range of modelling and simulation projects enabled through access to an on demand high performance computing (HPC) cluster, based at Bristol and Bath Science Park.
Eur Ing Nick Buckland OBE, Chairman, CFMS, "We're delighted to welcome delegates from UKTI's Electronics and Communications Investment Briefing Tour. We look forward to sharing more about the benefits of modelling and simulation through high performance computing on offer to organisations".
Delivered over the course of five days, the tour will enable delegates to have a greater understanding of the strengths and capabilities on offer from the UK Electronics and Communications sector.
The Centre for Modelling and Simulation (CFMS) provides access to an on demand high performance computing cluster, which enables organisations to predict and analyse the behaviour of new systems and products under development using advanced simulation tools.
CFMS provide a neutral area for large and small companies to collaborate and use these tools to examine their technologies while in the design phase, delivering significant time and cost savings.
