The Centre for Modelling and Simulation (CFMS) will be presenting at the British Hydro Association (BHA) 2015 Annual Conference, taking place at The Glasgow City Hotel, 10-11th November 2015. The 14th two day annual conference that the BHA will be holding, will see the hydropower sector gather together to share industry updates and consider future opportunities, debate key issues and review improvements.
Providing the opportunity to reflect on the hydropower landscape, the event will see industry professional from developers and manufacturers to service providers and consultants gather together to hear leading speakers and practitioners present over the duration of the event.
Presenting at the event, David Standingford, Lead Technologist, CFMS will be speaking about Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) based analysis on waterflow through a hydro electric site. As a powerful tool in the world of hydroelectrics, CFD simulations can enable the analysis and optimisation of channel designs, provide comparable data for business cases and reduce the impact of changes on prototype models.
Sam Paice, Chief Operating Officer, CFMS commented “We’re delighted to have the opportunity to participate in the BHA Annual 2015 Conference. The event will provide an insightful opportunity to present potential validation and performance enhancements through the use of CFD simulation.”
The event commences on 10th November at 08.00 with registration, networking and access to the exhibition, followed by conference proceedings. An evening dinner is also being held on day one, commencing at 19.15. The second day of the conference commences at 08.00, with closing remarks at 17.00. To register for the event visit:
The Centre for Modelling & Simulation (CFMS) is an independent, not-for-profit specialist in high value design. We support the delivery of new design methods and processes. Through our development centre and exceptional collaborative, facility, we offer specialist skills, resource and access to best in class technologies to enable organisations to achieve significant advances in design processes.
As a trusted and neutral provider, our vision is to drive a practical revolution in engineering design capability, working with organisations to reduce risk in the design phase, product development costs and time to market, while improving learning and awareness of the state-of-the-art.
