Bristol, 10th July 2017 - The Centre for Modelling & Simulation (CFMS) will be presenting at the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMECHE) Simulation and Modelling 2017 event, being held at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham.
Taking place between 12th - 13th September 2017, the event Chaired by Tim Morris, Chief Executive, NAFEMS, focuses on high level insights across engineering functions and industries. Presenting the key challenges faced around the integration of simulation in design, development, validation and manufacturing processes, delegates will learn about industrial applications in simulation and modelling, and how to effectively reduce costs and production time without compromising on quality or safety.
On behalf of CFMS, Andrei Cimpoeru, CFD Engineer for CFMS will be presenting, ‘High Order Discontinuous Galerkin applied to industrial case studies’, which will showcase a detailed comparison of a new hybrid method on modern canonical and industrial benchmarks from the Innovate UK and ATI project Hyperflux++. The project aim is to highlight the use of the latest advances in the hybrid high-order method, exploiting the power and energy efficiency of conventional and modern many-core processors including graphical processing units (GPUs).

Key topics covered are: Optimisation and integration of simulation and modelling across engineering disciplines, simulation in design and innovation, full vehicle body modelling for vehicles, simulation for powertrain development and testing, streamlining manufacturing processes, CFD for analysis of structures, stresses and material and testing and validation.
