CFMS to attend ISC High Performance 2017

Bristol, 12th June 2017 - The Centre for Modelling & Simulation (CFMS) will be attending ISC High Performance 2017, taking place 18th - 22nd June 2017, Frankfurt, Germany.

Over the five days that the event will take place, 400 speakers, 3,000 attendees and over 150 exhibitors will gather together for this renowned event in the HPC industry.

ISC High Performance focuses on High Performance Computing (HPC) technological development and its application in scientific fields, as well as its adoption in commercial environments. Consisting of a conference and exhibition, tutorials and workshops, the event will cover 13 HPC topics grouped under three categories: systems, applications, and emerging topics, Deep Learning Day on Wednesday and Industry Day on Tuesday.

The Conference Keynote will be delivered by Dr. Jennifer Tour Chayes, Distinguished Scientist, Managing Director of Microsoft Research New England and Microsoft Research NYC, who will be presenting Network Science: From the Massive Online Networks to Cancer Genomics. Tuesday and Wednesday Keynotes include Dr. Peter Bauer, Deputy Director Research Department, European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts, who will present on Forecasting the Future Role of HPC in Weather and Climate Prediction, and Prof. Dr. Thomas Sterling, Professor of Informatics & Computing, School of Informatics & Computing and Director, Center for Research in Extreme Scale Technologies (CREST), Indiana University, presenting HPC Achievement and Impact - 2017.

Topics covered include Exascale System Developments (Architecture & Concepts), Processor Technologies for HPC and AI, Memory Outlook, Interconnects for HPC Systems, Programming Models (Concepts for Exascale), Life Sciences, Energy Exploration, Turbulences & Combustion, Advanced Material Science, Algorithms for Extreme Scale in Practice, Large Scale Engineering & Cloud Computing, High Performance Visualization, Big Data Experiments & Big Data Analysis and Quantum Annealing for Combinatorial Optimization Problems.
