Digital Twin: Creating Smarter Cities

As demand grows for connected public services and transport networks, governments increasingly look to technology and data to gain insight and create Smart Cities. By creating a digital twin of a city, we can visualise key aspects faster than real-time would allow, meaning services can be delivered more efficiently, and cost-effectively for the benefit of both individuals and businesses. This example highlights our work to create a simulated digital map for a Bristol train station and its surrounding area, which can be used to simulate behaviour typically used for scenario and contingency planning – helping to ease congestion and providing the ability to predict, respond to or mitigate events and incidents.
