letter Spring 2019 Newsletter
Welcome!

Glorious Spring is well underway! With a hop and a skip we Shine the Spotlight on Eszter Szigeti, an expert in advanced data acquisition and correlation at Airbus. In the Innovation Space, we meet Synthesites who are focused on intelligent process monitoring and control technology in the advanced composites sector. We consider the challenges that AI and simulation bring to the digital engineering community, and in part two of the series, offer solutions for manufacturers embracing these tools. With interest in digital twin technology growing, we discuss 'the digital thread', the framework for connecting the digital model to the physical asset, what it means and how it can benefit organisations. Our Rising Star is Niki Lopi, who has developed an incompressible CFD solver, used to simulate low-Mach flows efficiently using modern hardware architectures. Our exciting news is the partnership we have announced with the Virtual Engineering Centre (VEC), to jointly develop technologies that accelerate the design of high value design products and services. Finally, we'd like to invite you to join CFMS and partners at this quarter's event, 'The Digital Thread: Capture, Curate, Connect', taking place 3rd July 2019, at CFMS.
